The World Cup is here, and at the NoHo BID we’re so excited to be in the middle of the action. New York/New Jersey is hosting eight matches, including the final, and it’s set to be a summer of celebration and fun. In preparation for the World Cup, Nike even moved across the street from Adidas so NoHo is now your place to buy all the merchandise you need for the tournament! This page is our guide to all the ways to celebrate in the neighborhood. Keep this tab open, as we’ll be updating it frequently over the next few weeks as World Cup mania builds, more ways to get involved and celebrate are announced, and we hear about more events.
Head to Bleecker Street Bar for the best watch parties: This beloved bar is showing almost every match in the tournament. There will be drink specials for all games, but the real action is at their watch parties during select games. Slainte is your “World Cup Headquarters”: Known for showing soccer for true “football” fans, this cult-favorite Bowery bar is showing every game during the World Cup. You won’t find any pretension here, just good food, good drinks, and a first-come, first-served policy with no reservations. Check out more about them here.
Enjoy all the specials at Great Jones Distillery: Manhattan’s first distillery Prohibition is offering so many ways to celebrate! Swing by their 2nd floor bar for a $26 burger and old-fashioned special, and score a special Manhattan World Cup glass, or take a tour of the facility, which includes a tasting, for just $26. They also have cocktails inspired by Mexico, America, and Canada – the three host countries – plus they are offering special $22 “Whiskeys of the World” flights all through the tournament. Watch Matches at NoHo Bars: VON Bar and 310 Bowery Bar will be showing most matches during their opening hours, with drink specials during every game and fun surprises to make for exciting viewing! Other NoHo bars showing select World Cup matches include Tom & Jerry’s and Rocco’s Sports and Recreation.
Grab a Special Jersey from Bite and Catch a Game: NoHo’s favorite old-school lunch stand is now showing games on the sidewalk! Stop by as you pick up your sandwich, sit in their outdoor seating, and catch games throughout the day. It’s the perfect way to skip out of the office and catch a few minutes.
