The NYC Department of Transportation has proposed a rule establishing 20 Commercial Waste Zones. Each zone would be exclusively serviced by 1-5 private carters. The NYC Law Department and Mayor’s Office of Operations would be responsible for certifying carters. View the proposed rules and commercial waste zone map here. Please submit comments and concerns to DSNY by January 13, 2020. Additionally, DSNY will hold an agency public hearing at 125 Worth Street in the 2nd floor auditorium from 9:30am to 12:00pm on January 13, 2020. After the comment period, DSNY will consider all comments and then publish the final rule which will become effective 30 days after such publication.
