Congratulations to Von for being awarded a Love Your Local Grant by the New York City Department of Small Business Services! This campaign honors the independent businesses that make New York City a unique and vibrant place. Grantees recieve $90,000 to put towards their business and free SBS training.
Von began in 1995 as an antique store, but quickly realized that selling Victorian daybeds and crumpets did not reflect the neighborhood’s needs. They got a beer and wine licensce, started having friends DJ, got their liquor license, and all of a sudden had a bar! Since then Von has been a neighborhood favorite. Christina, a blogger, described Von as a “small casual place… filled with character and makes a great spot for meeting up with friends… with a worn-in and cozy interior.”
