For Women’s History Month, we’re partnering with over 30 neighborhood organizations from across NYC on the #SmallBusinessWonderWomen campaign. We’re sharing the wonderful women behind the businesses that make NoHo a special place. Every woman was asked to share what makes them a small business wonder woman and why they chose to make NoHo their home.

“In 2017 we opened under the name Misirizzi. We chose this name because of the humor and metaphoric meaning it encapsulates. Misirizzi is a round-bottomed doll that always rights itself when pushed over. We knew that opening a restaurant would require us to embody the same qualities, and that is what makes me a #SmallBusinessWonderWomen. While we were well aware opening a restaurant would present many challenges, we didn’t anticipate the immediate support of our neighboring businesses. Unlike most of the businesses in this area, we are not part of a larger corporation. We are, instead, just two young Italians that believe in hospitality. Our goal is to create a space where people can feel at home. Our bigger satisfaction is seeing our customers enjoying each other company around a great meal and a nice glass of wine – maybe two.”

Misirizzi is located at 36 East 4th Street, and is currently open for indoor and outdoor dining as well as takeout. For up-to-date menus and hours, click here
