There’s a number of mentorship programs, facilitated by both city government and private organizations, designed to help you improve your skills as a small business operator. Small Business Mentors NYC: This program is designed to connected small business owners seeking to recover and grow their business as the City emerges from COVID. There’s a number of ways to engage with Small Business Mentors NYC, and the Department of Small Business Services, who runs the program, is offering a lot of flexibility in this program. SCORE NYC: With the support of the federal Small Business Administration, SCORE offers low and no cost mentorship to small businesses. This nonprofit offers a bevvy of services, for businesses of all stages, from an idea to a neighborhood institution and everything in between. WE NYC Mentors: WE Connect Mentors is a program to facilitate needed mentorship to women entrepreneurs by providing specialized mentors and group mentor sessions across the Five Boroughs. WE Connect Mentors are female founders who represent a variety of industries, backgrounds and business life stages, and is designed for all kinds of businesses and operators. BE NYC Mentors: BE NYC Mentors is a new mentorship program for Black entrepreneurs that aims to increase the number of Black-owned businesses in high-growth industries, with a strong focus on pre-startup and newly-formed businesses. While this program is still developing its full program, it currently offers both one-on-one and group mentoring systems. Find out more here.
M/WBE Mentors: If you are a certified M/WBE business, meaning you’ve been certified by New York City as a business that is owned by women and/or minorities, this program is for you!
