This is breaking news and we will be updating this page as we learn more information.

Phase II of NYC’s Reopening begins Monday, June 22nd and includes outdoor dining for restaurants.

From Politico: “Restaurants must fill out an application online for the outdoor seating, but the process is automatic — with approval granted immediately if a business self-certifies they will follow the rules.

They must practice social distancing, with at least 6 feet between tables, and allow enough space on the sidewalk for pedestrians to pass. Only establishments that serve food are eligible. Curbside seating is not allowed in bus stops, fire hydrants and no standing zones. Customers cannot congregate if they aren’t seated at tables.”

The Open Restaurant Application can be found here. You can now fill out applications.

Another summary of the legislation can be found here from Eater NY.

We are strongly encouraging businesses to subscribe to emails from the NYC Hospitality Alliance. They are an industry leader who has pushed this program for months and was deeply involved in its creation.

Next Monday, June 22nd at 3:00 PM, DOT Commissioner Polly Trottenberg will be a presenting information about the program and answering questions from restaurants at this event from the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. Register here.
