Their story from their website:

Longtime friends and owners, Danny Hahn and Chef Mason Rhee have joined forces with an exciting new restaurant concept. Centered on popular Lafayette Street, The Bari enters the NoHo food scene. Demonstrating the pride of their Korean lineage in the most effusive and effective way, Hahn and Rhee have conceived a menu that marries Japanese delicacy and Korean comfort plates.

The influence and inspiration of both cultures is showcased in dishes like Gochujang Spiced Sashimi and Soba Salad, Uni Bibimbap and the more familiar, house-made Kimchi Udon. The Bari invites its guests to explore a myriad of food experiences, plating beautifully executed, comfort-style Milk Bread-Crusted Pork Ribs with Wasabi Aioli, Herb Roasted Bone Marrow with torched and puréed Kimchi, and perfectly prepared American Wagyu plated alongside Shishito Peppers.

Sushi enthusiasts can enjoy moderate to premium priced a la carte options, including creative cuts, sets, and omakase. The Bari offers a fresh perspective for guests, within an impressive Soojin Kim designed interior. The space is striking, featuring long rows of marble tabletops under a framework of sphere glass fixtures. Jack Fuller’s timeless installation and painting pieces sit quietly on the walls of enclosed banquets, perfect for an intimate dinner for two or a more casual seating of eight to twelve. The tone of the space is calm and clear, its intention to magnify the cuisine experience in the most subtle manner. The Bari provides both comfort and beauty in catering to its eclectic downtown location.
