HOPE 2015 has reduced homelessness in NYC by 5%, 92% in Queens, and 64% in Bronx.

Individuals wishing to take a part in reducing homelessness in the city may want to take a look at this volunteer opportunity! The Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE) is an annual estimate to assess the number of individuals chronically living in New York City’s spaces. On the night of the HOPE count, thousands of the volunteers are sent in teams to survey the city streets, subways, and parks. The goal behind this system is to get the individuals off the street and to accept a bed at designated shelters.
