Jane’s Walk 2021 is here! This annual event, dedicated to honoring the legacy of community activist and urbanist Jane Jacobs, is dedicated to showing off the pieces of community throughout New York City that help make our city a special place. This year, two NoHo tours are offered – one on public art in subway stations, and another on our arts community, architecture and history.

Art Tour of Subway Stations of Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo – Friday, May 7th at 6:00 PM
RSVP here. “Step aboard” for a ride through the museum beneath the streets of Greenwich Village, the East Village, & NoHo! Tour guide Phil Desiere of Walk About New York will take us through the diverse array of artwork in nine different subway stations. From art commissioned by the MTA, to original art from the subway’s opening in 1904, we will learn about the artistic process, the artists, and the rich history of our neighborhoods that they represent.

Includes work by four Pritsker Prize-winning architects plus Sullivan, Flagg, and Hardenburg. Also residences of Keith Richards, Cher, Britney Spears, and artists Robert Rauchenberg, Basquiat, and Chuck Close. And many colorful stories to punctuate the major ups and downs.
