National Small Business Week is the first week of May, but NYC is celebrating small businesses all month long! Throughout the month of May, we are pleased to share that the NYC Department of Small Business Services is coordinating events and outreach initiatives across the five boroughs to raise awareness of free business resources, and bring business services directly to neighborhoods. Additionally, the NoHo BID is thrilled to offer complimentary events for our businesses during this month that we are hosting alongside other local partners.

Events from the NoHo BID and SBS Happening This May:
- NYU Small Business Week – May 2nd to 4th: The BID joined with NYU to put on a weeklong series of workshops for small businesses. Topics include storefront safety, getting online, dealing with COVID, and more. More information here.
- NYC BID Day – May 9th: The NoHo BID will be going out and about all day on Tuesday, May 9th as part of the city-wide Small Business Action Day. We’ll be going from store to store making sure our businesses know about city resources available to them.
- M/WBE Contracting Symposium – May 16th: Join SBS for this event and learn how to make New York City government your next customer at this in person event. Register here.
- Small Business Resources with Carlina Rivera and Pace SBDC – May 17th: The NoHo BID is cosponsoring an event from NoHo’s Councilmember Carlina Rivera and the Pace Small Business Development Center. - Preparing Your Business for Emergency – May 18th: Prepare for the unexpected and learn tips and best practices to make sure your business is ready to withstand any emergency situation at this in person event from SBS. Register here.

- Accessing Capital and Financing – May 24th: The Department of Small Business Services has put together this event featuring the federal Small Business Administration, dozens of local lenders, chambers, and more at this in person event.
