On November 1st, 2022, NYC’s new salary transparency laws went into effect. In the most basic terms, all job postings by businesses of four or more total employees must include a good faith salary estimate. This includes short term work, part time roles, interns, and other employment classifications.

We understand this may be an adjustment for some businesses, and that you might have questions about exactly what’s allowed. We recommend reading this alert from the NYC Hospitality Alliance, prepared by Fox Rothschild Attorneys at Law. While it has a slight hospitality focus, it expertly breaks down what exactly is expected of you as an employer.

If you have any questions about this new program, please contact the BID and we will do our best to assist you.
