Halloween in NYC is a special affair, with all kinds of exciting events and haunted happenings throughout the neighborhood. From the 32nd Annual Children’s Halloween Parade or watch horror classics like Dracula, there’s something for everybody. We’ll update this page with more events as we get closer to Halloween itself.
Go All Out at Gonzalez y Gonzalez’s Halloween Bash: This Latin dancehall goes all out every Halloween, and 2022 will be no different. On October 29th, stop by for a costume contest, chimichanga eating contest, margarita drinking contest, and free Illegal Mezcal drinks until 11:00 PM! Explore Dia de los Muertos with Mexico Beyond Mariachi at the Sheen Center: Mexico Beyond Mariachi is a music and dance company that seeks to highlight Mexican culture. Join them for two special showings of Dia de los Muertos: Mexican Myth, Legend, and Ancestry at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture. The show is a bilingual, family friendly, interactive multimedia performance told through storytelling, live music and dance and will be held on October 30th. Click here for more info.
Visit Manhattan’s Most Haunted House: NoHo’s Merchant’s House Museum is full of Halloween happenings all month long. Dubbed ‘Manhattan’s most haunted house,’ there’s a ton of events to choose from, including their beloved candlelight ghost tours. Read more about their offerings here.
Help Dracula Find His Shadow at the Gene Frankel Theatre: At this beloved blackbox theatre from October 19th to 30th, get to know the real Dracula. Most people know him, but this show goes into the man behind the myth, how he lost his beloved shadow, Alucard, and his search for a replacement. Learn more here.
Gather Around for Ghost Stories with the Bowery Boys at The Public: Since 2018, the Bowery Boys have brought spooky stories to Joe’s Pub. Join them for spooky stories, NYC urban legends, and other folklore from our City. This event is hugely popular, and will sell out, so get tickets early! Reframe Day of the Dead with Renee Goust at The Public: Mexican-American singer-songwriter and queer feminist activist Renee Goust presents her new show “Muertxs”, where she reframes Mexican Day of the Dead by observing it under the lens of the gun and gender-based violence. Have Fun with the Whole Family at the 32nd Children’s Halloween Parade: After a two year COVID hiatus, the 32nd Children’s Halloween Parade is back! On Halloween at 3:00 PM in Washington Square Park, the parade will begin. After a march around the Village, the parade will end on LaGuardia where there will be lots of exciting activities for kids to enjoy. More details here.
Get Very Superstitious at Duane Park: On Halloween night, visit Duane Park for a four course meal served alongside a glamorous seance of sorts, a little skin, and lots of good times.
