Palo Gallery is hosting Auguste Garufi’s “illuminations at twilight held fast by terror” focuses on work from the late 1990s to the 2010s. Garufi describes his work as a search for essence, aura and entry points into a deeper understanding of our universe. His search manifests itself in collage, sculpture, design, writing, print-making and photography. “illuminations at twilight held fast by terror” focuses on Garufi’s photographic exploration of objects, figures and compositions in a manner that upends the traditional practices of photography. In a photographic practice that uses distortion, chance, unregulated light sources and constant repetition, Garufi strives to unearth and capture the essence of his subjects rather than their two dimensional image.

This exhibit is in the neighborhood now through early February – make sure to check it out before it’s gone. Open Tuesday – Saturday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, or by appointment outside of these hours.
